Year in Review
By Karen in Business Management , in GeneralAs hard as it is to believe, 2010 is almost over! But, before we officially wave goodbye to 2010, I have one suggestion:
Give yourself a yearly review
No matter what type of year they have had professionally, all agents should take the time to review their 2010 year in real estate. By evaluating both the good and bad aspects of your year, you can learn from and build on the past to build an even greater 2011.
Here is a suggestion of questions to ask yourself during your review:
1. How many listings did I have during 2010? How many were sold? What was the average sales price?
2. How many buyers did I work with during 2010? How many purchased a home? What was the average sales price?
3. Did I lose any listings this year? If so, how many? What do I believe was the reason for these lost listings?
4. Did I lose any buyers this year? If so, how many? What do I believe was the reason for these lost buyers?
5. How many new leads did I have this year? How many of those became clients? How many are still prospects?
6. Did I lose any leads this year? If so, how many? What do I believe was the reason for these lost leads?
7. What marketing materials did I send out this year (including direct mail & email)? What response did I receive from each piece?
8. What was my greatest success professionally in 2010? What was my greatest mistake professionally of the year?
9. What was my take-home income for 2010? Was this above or below my expectation?
10. On a scale of 1-10, overall how would I rate this year for my business?
WRITE your questions and answers down and SAVE them in a place where you can review them year after year. As time goes on, a record of your yearly evaluations will become invaluable as you grow and expand your business!
And remember, this above list is just a suggestion – feel free to add more questions or go into more detail if needed.
And, be sure to check back next week for suggestions on setting goals for the New Year!
