Terry McDermott
Terry McDermott retired as the chief executive officer and executive vice president of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® in November, 2005 and has joined RES as Chairman of the Advisory Board.
During his tenure at NAR, Terry grew NAR’s membership to more than 1.2 million members. He was involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries, and oversaw the purchase and development of the group’s Washington, D.C., office, the first newly constructed "Green" building in our nation’s capital.
Before joining NAR in 1997, Terry was executive vice president and chief executive officer of The American Institute of Architects. For 24 years Terry was with Cahners Publishing Co. (now part of Reed Business Information), America’s largest business and special interest magazine publisher. During the years of 1987 and 1993, Terry served as Cahners’ president and chief operating officer.
Terry has a strong knowledge of the realty business that is second to none. His insight and understanding of information needs will help ensure that RES products and services meet the needs of RES subscribers.
Arol Wolford
Arol has been a well-known entrepreneur in the building products and construction information industry for the past 30 years. He founded Manufacturers' Survey Group in 1975 and five years later entered the construction information industry with the start up of Construction Market Data (CMD).
As President and CEO of CMD, Arol oversaw the growth of CMD as it expanded operations to include Canada, Mexico, Scandinavia, Australia and Asia. Arol sold CMD to Cahners Publishing, part of Reed Business Information, in 2000. In June 1997, Arol was named honorary member of The American Institute of Architects in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the architectural profession.
Theo VanderBoom
Theo VanderBoom offers an extensive background in print and electronic information services and publishing. Before joining RES in 2002, Theo was CFO of Construction Market Data (CMD), and responsible for CMD’s worldwide financial activities in the US, Canada, Mexico, Scandanavia, Australia and Asia. Prior to joining CMD, Theo was the CFO of US operations for CMD’s parent, Southam Business Communications, and has also served in various other executive positions in Canada with Southam Inc. and Torstar Corporation.
